I teach private lessons in making jewellery.

Please visit my new website:

Jewellery making lessons are held in my studio in Crouch End, North London. They are suitable for complete beginners and students with some experience. The beauty of private tuition is that lessons will be tailored to your ability and specific to your jewellery making interests.

For complete beginners the first lesson will begin with an introduction to the safe use of tools and equipment, then the making of a copper ring. The ring making will serve as an introduction to working with metal including the processes of measuring, sawing, joining, texturing, basic forming, finishing and polishing. For this class you don't need to bring anything but yourself as everything is provided. You will take home your finished ring at the end of your first two hour lesson.

Once students have made a copper ring or if the student already has some experience they can go on to work with silver, making various pieces of jewellery including rings, earrings, pendants and cuff links. Students can chose to learn enameling, stone setting, letter stamping and many other jewellery making techniques.

The cost of silver and precious stones is not included in the price of the class. I have a supply of stones and silver that can be purchased to work with during the lesson. Most students spend less than £5 on materials each lesson.
